Speak Up Against Cancer aims to:

  • Increase awareness, knowledge and confidence about the signs and symptoms of cancer.
  • Encourage people to see their GP early.
  • Increase awareness of and number of people attending NHS Cancer Screening Programmes.
  • Work with other organisations in the city to raise knowledge and awareness of cancer.

At the heart of our work is a team of fully trained, local volunteers with an experience of cancer. We believe that the power of lived experience is extremely powerful and are keen to hear from other local people whose cancer was caught early and successfully treated.

Would you like to discuss how we can work together? Maybe you have a team meeting we could attend to make your volunteers and/or co-workers familiar with our messages, an event that we could attend with our fun roadshow or an idea that will help us to meet common aims? We can tailor make talks for you. We have a branded Cancer Awareness Taxi that we can bring out to neighbourhoods, meeting people at the local park, shops, pubs or community centres.
